Helen & Rob’s wedding – Hafton Castle, Dunoon.

CEREMONY SENTIMENTS

They’d toyed with the idea of civil and humanist ceremonies, but after talking things through with minister Carolyn Stewart, they decided that an interfaith ceremony suited them best, allowing them to mention faith in some way even though neither of them are especially religious.

That type of ceremony also meant they could incorporate lots of personal touches, from a prayer for absent family members to a hand-fasting ritual. “My Mum made the tie that bound us together, embroidered with our names and the date of our wedding.  We didn’t see it until the day of the wedding, so it was a lovely surprise.”
